“We are tied to the ocean. And when we go back to the sea, whether it is to sail or to watch – we are going back from whence we came.” – John F. Kennedy

Trans Pacific Race

First sailed in 1906, the Transpacific Yacht Race remains the longest of the two oldest ocean races in the world; 2,225 nautical miles of open water. It stands apart from other major ocean races being that it is a “downwind race”.
